How can yoga therapy help?

Yoga therapy offers a gentle, evidence informed approach to supporting physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. It can support a wide range of conditions including stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and trauma.

By combining the ancient practices of yoga with a modern understanding of anatomy, neuroscience and psychology, yoga therapy provides a tailored approach to guide the individual to greater health and wellbeing.

Working one to one or in small groups, sessions may consist of gentle movement, breathing practices, mindfulness, meditation and relaxation to balance the nervous system, focus the mind and connect with the body. These tools, tailored to your specific needs, can then be used as practical support in your everyday life.
YOGA THERAPY

Yoga therapy sessions are offered 1:1 in person in my Edinburgh studio or on zoom. If you are interested please book a free 15 minute, introductory call to discuss what support you are looking for and to ask any questions you may have. We can then arrange a session at a time that suits you. First sessions are usually 90 minutes with following sessions 60 minutes.

ABOUT TALULA

Hello and welcome to my yoga space!

I have practised yoga for 27 years, since discovering it in my early twenties and quickly realising how profoundly it supported both my physical and mental wellbeing. I trained as a yoga teacher in 2015, with Yoga Campus and have since gained extensive experience through teaching and professional training with many inspiring teachers.

These include trainings in Astanga, Vinyasa, Yin, Yoga Nidra, mindfulness & child & adolescent yoga therapy trainings. I am a qualified Yoga Therapist and specialise in supporting people with anxiety, depression, fatigue, CFS/ME, chronic pain, trauma & PTSD.

I decided to follow this path after experiencing these conditions both personally and within my family and seeing how far-reaching their effects can be. I understand how overwhelming these challenges can feel and how transformational yoga practices can be in supporting healing and recovery. I am passionate about sharing the gentle yet powerful practices that yoga therapy offers, to help alleviate what can often be debilitating conditions.

Yoga therapy works with the different layers of our being, including the physical, mental, emotional, energetic and deeper aspects of ourselves. Practices may include movement, breathing techniques, mindfulness, and relaxation, all tailored to meet the individual's needs in a safe, compassionate and inclusive way. No previous experience of yoga is necessary.

These practices offer great potential for creating a sense of inner safety and provide a space for greater self-awareness and self-compassion. This can empower individuals to better understand their needs, find greater balance and actively support their own healing process.

I work with a wide range of people, including teenagers and children, who experience many of these challenges in a world that can often feel overwhelming and stressful.

Yoga therapy offers a holistic approach that supports nervous system regulation, builds strength and resilience, improves focus, and creates opportunities for rest and restoration within what can sometimes feel like a never-ending cycle of inner chaos and dysregulation. These empowering practices provide tools that can be used at any time, helping to create space for healing and supporting greater balance, strength, wellbeing and joy in everyday life.

Whether you are living with a chronic condition or would like some guidance in finding greater balance and connection in your life, I would be delighted to support you.
